PREFACE
Dear reader,
Comprehensive medical knowledge is vital and useful for preserving and staying healthy. Knowledge of community medicine also reflects the civilized level of society. Advances in theory and practice in the medical field have exploded over the past decades, especially in surgery. Many new surgical treatments aim to be "minimally invasive, maximum effectiveness," such as endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic surgery. These help patients have less pain, less bleeding, less scarring, and a short hospital stay, but still ensure the best effectiveness and treatment principles.
Over 25 years in the profession, I realize that many patients have not equipped themselves with the necessary knowledge about illnesses that they are suffering. Many patients come to the clinic after a period of self-treatment, for example, by buying over-the-counter, from unlicensed healers, etc., until it’s too late after arriving. They do not even know why they are in the hospital and do not understand the reasons the procedure is necessary. Many patients are treated in a clinic until they turn to a surgeon, already in an advanced stage. Many patients whose condition does not deserve surgery are required to operate - even urgent surgery.
There are many online medical resources for people, so they will know what to do when detecting symptoms, checking for diseases, and taking care of themselves. Thanks to that, patients have good cooperation with medical staff when going in for medical examination and treatment.
With many years of experience in General Surgery, less invasive treatment, especially in the area of Gastroenterology, I have cherished the establishment of GI Endo-Laparoscopic Surgery Center. This center is the first in Vietnam to unify screening, detection, diagnosis, and treatment most effectively with the least invasive technique for gastrointestinal tract diseases. With the support and enthusiastic help of relatives, friends, and colleagues, this website was created to disseminate high-quality medical knowledge from reputable databases worldwide. To suit the Vietnamese community and to provide counseling and virtual pieces of advice for patients. This is also the place where we share our knowledge and experiences with young colleagues.
Anyone can be ill. The more knowledge you have, the more you know when seeking a doctor's consultation, how long to be treated, whether it requires surgery, the right surgery designate or not, etc. I hope the website and practical talk will contribute to popularizing health concerns and understanding the issues you are concerned about it.
We wish you good health and success.
Sincerely,
Do Minh Hung MD, Ph.D
